Luke 4:16ff
Jesus
read from The Book of Isaiah.
He stopped reading at verse 61:2 - and the day of vengeance of our God.
He did not read about the vengeance of God.
Earth-dwellers will see that for themselves.
The Church will not - we will be in Heaven -
saved from the wrath.
Jesus read about His first earthly ministry from Isaiah -
when He returns at Armageddon, He will come to minister vengeance.
Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words
The judgements of God are holy and right (Rev. 16:7),
and free from any element of self-gratification or vindictiveness.
In the Divine exercise of judgment there is no element of vindictiveness
