Abram and Melchizedek
Genesis 14:17 thru 20
18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine;
he was the priest of God Most High.
19 And he blessed him and said:
“ Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth;
20 And blessed be God Most High,
Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.”
And he gave him a tithe of all.

The Messiah is the high priest - superior to the Aaronic line
Psalm 110:4
The Lord has sworn and will not revoke or change it:
You are a priest forever,
after the manner and order of Melchizedek.
Charles H. Spurgeon
Jesus is sworn in to be the priest of his people,
and he must abide so even to the end,
because his commission is sealed by the unchanging oath of
the immutable Jehovah.

The mysterious Melchizedek: his superiority to Abraham and the Levites
Hebrews 7:1 thru 3
This Melchizedek was king of Salem and a priest of the Most High God.
As Abraham was coming back from the battle in which he defeated the four kings,
Melchizedek met him and blessed him,
2 and Abraham gave him one tenth of all he had. (The first meaning of Melchizedek's
name is King of Righteousness; and because he was king of Salem, his name also means King of Peace.)
3 Without father, without mother, without descent,
having neither beginning of days,
nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God;
abideth a priest continually.
he remains a priest forever.

The only person of whom the statements in Hebrews 7:3 could be
literally true as they stand, without addition of other words
supposedly implied, would have to be none other than
the Second Person of the Godhead. .....
....the most Christ-honoring interpretation, the one most consistent with
Biblical literalism, and the one with the fewest difficulties is the
recognition of Melchizedek as a glorious manifestation to
Abram of God incarnate,the eternal priestly Mediator between man and God.

Jesus reveals the identity of Melchizedek to the Jews
John 8: 56
Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old,
and hast thou seen Abraham?
58Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was,
I am.
"The phrase harbours within itself the most authentic, the most audacious,
and the most profound affirmation by Jesus of who He was." (Stauffer)
The ancient Greek phrase ( I Am ) is ego emi,
which is the same term used in the Greek translation of
the Old Testament ( the septuagint )
to describe the Voice from the burning bush.
CONCLUSION
Christophanies appear in the Person of Melchizedek and
the voice from the burning bush.
